Robert Ballou Third at 'No Way Out 40'

PETERSEN MEDIA: A relentless winter in Indiana finally played nice over the weekend and allowed Robert Ballou to get back to racing as he picked up a third place at the ‘No Way Out 40’.

“It was great to get back in the car and go to work,” Robert Ballou said. “We had a decent night, but there is always room for improvement.”

Scoring a second place finish in his heat race aboard the Dickinson Farms/Lucas Oil Products/Abreu Vineyards backed No. 12 machine, Ballou would move into the 40-lap feature event where he would take the green flag from the sixth starting position.

Early in the race, Ballou looked very strong as he made a couple of quick moves and moved into the third position. On a trick surface, Ballou’s machine would start to tighten up on him and he would fall back as he would try and adapt to his machine.

Pushing his machine harder and harder lap after lap, the Rocklin, CA native would get things figured out and he would start working his way back towards the front.

As the laps wound down, Ballou seemed to get stronger and stronger and he raced his way back into third and began chasing after the lead duo. With time running out, Ballou would close the ‘No Way Out 40’ with a third place finish.

“We were good early, and then it got really tight and we fell back,” Ballou said. “I was able to change some things up and get going and we got really fast there at the end. We aren’t far off, and I think we can keep this thing up front and make some noise.

ON TAP: Ballou will be back in action in Bloomington, IN on Friday night and in Haubstadt, IN on Saturday night.

2018 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 5, Wins- 0, Top 5’s- 2, Top-10’s- 3
